The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time faculty position with clinical service responsibilities in surgical pathology and/or cytopathology who will function as the Medical Director of the Histology and Cytology Laboratories at the Assistant Professor level in the HS Clinical/Clinical (X) series.
Candidates must have an MD degree, valid California Medical License or qualifications to obtain one, and be Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. For a Cytopathologist, a Certification of added qualification from the Board in Cytopathology is required. Prior histology/cytology laboratory quality assurance/quality improvement activities is preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are also desirable.
The individual will be expected to participate in the surgical pathology and cytopathology services, including night and weekend call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff and fellows, and interdepartmental conferences. She/he will be encouraged to participate in clinical and/or translational research.
