Position description
Assistant Professional Researcher – Molofsky Lab, Department of Psychiatry
The Molofsky Lab in the Department of Psychiatry is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professional Researcher. The Professional Research series is used for appointees who engage in independent research equivalent to that required for the Professor series and not for appointees whose duties are limited to making significant and creative contributions to a research project or to providing technical assistance to a research activity.
The Assistant Professional Research position in the Molofsky Lab will discover a mechanism through which immune molecules contribute to pathogenic tau aggregation. They will perform independent research to this end.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctorate or its equivalent.
• A PhD degree that includes training and extensive experience in biochemistry and molecular biology.
• Postdoctoral experience in studying and using brain induced pluripotent stem cells for CRISPR screening and functional assays.
• Postdoctoral experience in proximity proteomic studies and analysis.
• Postdoctoral experience in working with mouse Alzheimer's models.
• Postdoctoral experience in studying the brain extracellular matrix in human in vitro systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in coding and bioinformatics analysis.
