Assistant/Associate Health Sciences Clinical Professor/ Physical Therapist: Neurologic
The UCSF Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is seeking full-time members in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (at the ranks of Assistant or Associate Professor) to provide Physical Therapy services to the UCSF Physical Therapy Faculty Practice, and to support its teaching programs administered in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science.
The UCSF Faculty Practice serves a broad range of patients (adolescents to elders) with a variety of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, integumentary, and cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitative needs of patients living with and beyond cancer and other chronic illnesses. The applicants for this position are expected to:
- Practice evidence based, high quality care
- Teach students in the clinical setting
- Represent the Faculty Practice within UCSF and the surrounding communities
- Maintain an active dialogue with UCSF referring providers and within the UCSF Health community
Basic Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a DPT degree from an accredited DPT Program or equivalent degree.
- Be board-certified or board eligible in Neurologic specialty.
- Current CA State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of CA to practice.
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years clinical experience.
- Neurologic outpatient experience.
Applicants must meet all of the requirements by the time of hire. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.
The candidates may be asked to participate in teaching in DPT, Residency and/or PhD programming, and will instruct students in the Faculty Practice environments. This position initially is comprised of 95% patient care and 5% teaching. The faculty member is expected to participate in university governance, faculty meetings, departmental administrative meetings, quality assurance programs and continuing education.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $118,000 - $183,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
