Position description

Attending Psychologist

UCSF Health is currently recruiting for a psychologist position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The position will be filled in a rank and series commensurate with experience, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026, or thereafter.

Qualifications:
• PhD in psychology or equivalent, postdoctoral training in psychology or equivalent, and licensed to practice psychology in California at the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated clinical, educational, and administrative skills with a strong commitment to an academic career as a clinician-educator.
• Demonstrated commitment to serving a broad patient population.
• Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon application submission.
• Applicants must meet all of the requirements by the time of hire.

Responsibilities
• Providing services to patients within the Gender Psychiatry Program, including individual therapy and group therapy in outpatient settings.
• Participating in teaching, supervision and assessment of trainees.
• Collaborating with other department members on research projects and scholarly activities.
• Engaging in innovation and improvements in clinical, research, and educational programs.
• Participating in departmental, university, and public service.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $106,000-$319,800. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
