Professional Researcher- Deitchman Lab

The Department of Clinical Pharmacy is now recruiting a Professional Researcher at the Assistant, Associate, and Full ranks. The general responsibilities of this position are to carry out research in the Drug Research Unit, including but not limited to pharmacology studies fo HIV cure therapeutics and biomarkers of HIV disease. These duties include writing grants, devising appropriate research strategies, designing and carrying out experiments (e.g., ex vivo tissue assays, quantiative LC/MS/MS), interpreting data, reporting the results and interpretation of the experiments to internal and external audiences, and preparing and submitting scholarly papers for peer-review under direction of the DRU co-directors. Additional responsibilities include supervising more junior lab members in their research.

Required Qualifications:

1. A doctorate or its equivalent in biomedical engineering or a closely related field.
2. Hands on experience in matrix biology
3. 10 years of experience in human tissue experimental design, sample preparation, and data analysis
4. 5 years of experience in HPLC and mass spectrometer instrument operation and maintenance
5. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and faculty
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• A PhD degree
• Extensive experience with molecular biology lab techniques and tissue culture.
• Experience writing research proposals
• Computer programming skills in MATLAB
• A track record of developing and leveraging innovative human tissue-based systems.
• Experience managing a diverse portfolio of collaborative projects between laboratories.
• Experience and interest in community outreach and mentorship
