Junior/Assistant/Associate Specialist- Manglik lab

The Manglik lab at UCSF is recruiting a Junior/Assistant/Associate Specialist. This person will serve to support ongoing research in the structural and biochemical basis of signaling biology and drug discovery. The position involves maintaining day-to-day laboratory operations, including ordering reagents, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation and records. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with experimental workflows in cell culture, protein biochemistry, and drug discovery assays.

Required Qualifications:

  • Junior Specialist - Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience
  • Assistant Specialist - Master’s degree or a baccalaureate degree with three or more years of research experience
  • Associate Specialist - Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of relevant experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow established research protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
  • Interest in long-term research training prior to graduate or PhD studies.
  • Candidates must meet the required qualifications at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with basic molecular or cell biology techniques.
  • Experience with protein biochemistry, cell culture, or other wet lab biology.
  • Previously served as a lab manager for an academic lab
