Position description

Assistant or Associate Specialist – Chang lab

This position will involve providing assessment and treatment of speech, language, and cognition. Specialist will also assist PI with intraoperative research tasks by collecting behavioral data on language recovery and assessing research participants’ speech and language skills after surgical treatment. The position will work with both pediatric and adult patient population with and without autism, for research/data collection purposes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Assistant Specialist - Master’s degree in a biological sciences, linguistics, cognitive science, psychology or neuropsychology, computer science, engineering field, or a related field with relevant experiences or a baccalaureate degree in a biological sciences, linguistics, cognitive science, psychology or neuropsychology, computer science, engineering field, or a related field with relevant experiences, and with 3 or more years of research experience.
  • Associate Specialist - Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in a biological sciences, linguistics, cognitive science, psychology or neuropsychology, computer science, engineering field, or a related field with relevant experiences or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
  • Neuroscience research and/or neuroimaging experience.
  • Good communication and organization skills will be necessary for study related interactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master or doctoral degree in pediatric neuropsychology.
  • Computer programming skills and/or experience.
  • Experience working with autism patients.
