UCSF Fresno & VACCHCS – Surgical Service Chief
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) are seeking applications for the position of Surgical Service Chief at the VACCHCS.
Position Overview:
The Surgical Service Chief will oversee the clinical operations serving a diverse and growing population of veterans in the Central Valley. This position involves significant leadership responsibilities within the VACCHCS, including the oversight of clinical programs, and the support and development of educational initiatives, ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered clinical care to veterans, foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Surgical Service, promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the clinical, research, and educational environments. The successful candidate must possess a commitment to patient care. Develop and support educational programs for UCSF Fresno medical students, residents, and fellows.
Additionally, there are clinical research opportunities available; commitment is desirable. The candidate will serve a diverse and growing population of veterans in the Central Valley.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in General Surgery.
- Valid U.S. medical license.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, research, and education.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A track record of significant leadership roles, with eligibility for appointment as an Associate or Full Professor at UCSF.

Compensation:
