Position description
The Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regeneration Medicine and Stem Cell Research at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF Broad Stem Cell Center) invites applications from innovative scientists for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Applicants must have a PhD, MD, and/or an equivalent degree. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a productive research background, providing evidence of an unusual degree of creativity, in the areas of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology and/or Regenerative Medicine. We welcome candidates across the spectrum of basic to translational research. In particular, those with an interest in genome editing approaches to manipulate stem cells and/or in hematopoietic stem cell biology are encouraged to apply. The chosen candidate will develop and maintain a thriving independent research program and collaborate with other members of the stem cell and gene therapy communities at UCSF.
Applicants must show evidence of research excellence in their field, be a strong communicator, and exhibit strength in teaching and in mentoring. The successful candidate will become a member of one or more UCSF graduate programs, such as Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and Developmental and Stem Cell Biology (DSCB), and contribute to teaching, mentoring, and training. The faculty appointment will be in the School of Medicine, in partnership with a clinical and/or basic science department, to be determined based on the candidate’s expertise.
The UCSF Broad Stem Cell Center seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, and community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment and ongoing support system for diversity and excellence. This preparation is important to help our faculty enrich the training environment for the diverse graduate student and postdoctoral communities at UCSF. The UCSF Broad Stem Cell Center and UCSF create a supportive environment to foster the success of all faculty hires through formal and informal mentorship, tenure pre-review, and numerous professional developmental opportunities.
