Junior Specialist – Wang Lab
Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery

The Wang Lab in the Department of Surgery is seeking a Junior Specialist to support the research of Dr. Rong Wang. The Wang Lab studies the rational design of cardiovascular and cancer therapies through molecular control of angiogenesis.
The Junior Specialist will carry out scientific experiments, including mouse breeding, genotyping, dissection, surgery; tissue sectioning, immunostaining, and microscopy, including two photon imaging and 3D rendering, image processing; and other techniques to support the research efforts of the lab.
The Junior Specialist will be responsible for maintaining lab reagent, supply, and solution; ordering and record keeping, assist in facility management, including maintaining and updating lab compliance with University protocols; equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
The Junior Specialist will also be responsible for coordinating lab events; assisting in grant application, research and laboratory related communication, website updating; proofreading documents, and recording meeting minutes.
Qualified candidates must have a BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field by the time of hire. Candidates should be highly responsible and motivated, with outstanding hands-on, organizational, communication, and computer skills, strong proofreading and editing skills and should be computer proficiency.
