The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full time, academic Pediatric Plastic Hand Surgeon. Candidates must be board eligible/certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and have completed or will complete by the time of hire a fellowship in hand surgery. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Candidates must also have the ability to care for craniomaxillofacial trauma. Additional fellowship training in craniofacial surgery would be highly desirable but not required.

Primary clinical responsibilities will be at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital (BCH) Oakland. Plastic Surgeons at our Pediatric Hospitals are comprehensive, ranging from complex facial and hand traumas, routine lumps and bumps, to challenging congenital reconstructions. This is a unique opportunity to dive deep into your subspecialty, while maintaining the breadth of reconstructive expertise unique to our discipline.

The candidate will support call responsibility at the BCH Oakland campus, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. In addition to covering acute hand and face traumas, Plastic Surgery is also the go-to for peripheral neurovascular injuries in children. The candidate must be facile with peripheral neural and vascular repairs.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 -$393,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
