Division of Oncology, Department of Pediatrics
Clinical X or In Residence Faculty Series

Role Overview:
The Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco is recruiting an MD or PhD scientist with a strong interest in immuno-oncology of pediatric cancers. The position comes with an endowed Professorship. Appointment will be made at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

The selected candidate will become part of a leading academic medical center and a well-established training program. The role will significantly contribute to our tripartite mission of fostering excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in groundbreaking research and obtain federal funding.
  • Advance the field of pediatric cancer immunology, whether basic or translational.
  • Collaborate with UCSF’s dynamic immunology and oncology communities.

Areas of Research Interest:

  • Cell-based therapies (e.g., CART)
  • RNA vaccines
  • Antibody Drug Conjugates

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, or MD/PhD
  • Demonstrated track record in publishing and securing peer-reviewed external funding
  • Eligibility for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank
  • Commitment to workplace diversity
  • Collaborative spirit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven strength in teaching
  • Current or prospective recipient of federal or equivalent funding as a Principal Investigator
  • Robust communication skills across diverse forums

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $156,700-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
