Department of Ophthalmology, Division of Glaucoma at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Level
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking applicants for a full-time Ophthalmologist Faculty position in the Glaucoma division at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Level. Advanced training, expertise, or willingness to manage pediatric patients is required. The individual will join the Glaucoma Ophthalmology Division and be responsible primarily for patient care, including pediatric patients, at the Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
The Ophthalmologist will serve as a clinician educator for residents and fellows with an emphasis on glaucoma, cataract and anterior segment medical and surgical instruction.
Requirements:
Qualified candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree and have a CA medical license or be eligible for full, unrestricted licensure by the time of hire. Candidates must have completed an Ophthalmology residency, be board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology (ABO), and have completed fellowship training in glaucoma at the time of appointment. Qualified training in pediatric glaucoma is highly desired. Demonstrated teaching competency is essential. Candidates must have a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care and teaching. Applicant’s materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission. Applicant must have all requirements met by the start of an appointment.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2024-25/oct-2024-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $102,600 - $357,500. The total negotiated salary for this position will include another component at the time of hire. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
