Physician‐Scientist Recruitment
Endo/Metab
The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and UCSF Medical Center is seeking to recruit up to two (2) outstanding Physician‐Scientists at any faculty rank in the academic series most aligned with their qualifications and specific research interests. Successful candidates will be expected to develop and/or maintain a robust, independently funded laboratory or clinical research program in any area of endocrinology. We encourage applications from individuals conducting exciting research in areas ranging from the basic sciences to broadly defined areas of clinical research, including genetics, cohort‐based studies, trials, bioinformatics, clinical informatics, and epidemiology as examples. Successful faculty members will also participate in the clinical, educational and service missions of the Division. Attractive aspects of this search include ample laboratory and office space, substantial startup funds, ready access to an array of cutting‐edge research resources, and a world‐renowned academic community integrated on the Parnassus Campus of UCSF, located in the heart of San Francisco and the picturesque Bay Area.
Requirements:
Candidates should hold an MD degree or MD/PhD degrees and should be either board certified or eligible in Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Preferred/Desirable Qualifications [optional]
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the establishment of an interesting research niche, coupled with a funding and publication track record commensurate with their academic career stage. A complementary clinical area of expertise would be beneficial as well.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $127,000-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $90,700-$238,300.
