UCSF Fresno & VACCHCS - EMERGENCY ROOM PHYSICIAN POSITION

UCSF Fresno & Veterans Affairs Central California Healthcare System (VACCHCS) is seeking a full-time faculty member to serve as an Emergency Room Physician. Applicants must have a medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent), board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, have completed residency in Internal Medicine and eligible to obtain a US medical license. Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA. The VA’s basic qualification standards may be found at https://www.vacareers.va.gov/ApplicationProcess/NavigatingHiringProcess. In addition, teaching and scholarly experience with residents in the ambulatory and inpatient setting is preferred. Some portion of the candidate’s time may be spent providing clinical guidance to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and/or medical students. In addition, the selected candidate will provide direct patient care, teaching, and scholarly/creative activities. This position will function as an important member of the UCSF Fresno residency and fellowship programs. The Emergency room program functions within VACCHS, the primary medical facility serving Veterans in the Central Valley. VACCHCS is a Complexity Level IC health care facility. We have an active and expanding clinical research program. Faculty appointment with UCSF will be commensurate with the applicant’s background and accomplishments.

VACCHCS provided a reasonable salary estimate for this position $220,000-$400,000

The program is located in Fresno, California, a vibrant, growing but affordable community in the Central California Valley just a short drive to Yosemite and other national parks.
