Position description

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is seeking a Breast Imaging Radiologist for a faculty position. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical X, in-Residence, or HS Clinical series depending on qualifications and interests.

Clinical responsibilities encompass all of breast imaging including mammography, breast ultrasound, breast interventional procedures, and breast MRI exams. Faculty are expected to develop a clinical or more basic research program in the area of one's specialty focus. Responsibilities include clinical service, teaching and research. The selected candidate will supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students in Breast Imaging. Obligations will include work at Mission Bay Hospital/Bakar Precision Cancer Medicine Building but may also include UCSF Moffitt/Long Hospital, UCSF Imaging at Montgomery St, the VA Medical Center, China Basin Outpatient Facility, Berkeley Outpatient Center, Peninsula Outpatient Center and/or Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, all of which are affiliated teaching, clinical and research facilities of UCSF.

The position requires an MD degree (or equivalent), ability to practice medicine in California, expertise in breast imaging, and completion of fellowship training in breast imaging. Applicants are expected to be board certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or be prepared to enter into the ABR Alternate Pathway. Applicants should also be certified to interpret mammography under the Mammography Quality Standards Act. Applicant materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission. The selected candidate must meet all of the qualifications at the time of appointment.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $142,800-$377,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
