Certified Nurse Midwife – Maternal-Fetal Medicine – Clinical Faculty Position

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division, is seeking a Faculty CNM whose responsibilities will include Labor & Delivery and attending births with our OBGYN residents, OB Triage seeing patients of all risk levels, and postpartum rounding.

Responsibilities will also include teaching of residents, medical students and midwifery students. Centering Pregnancy has been an integral part of prenatal care at UCSF for over 10 years and is well supported by the department. Midwives have been part of the MFM Division for over 20 years.

Minimum qualifications (may be in process during application period, however, must be possessed by the time of hire) are:

  1. RN and CNM (with furnishing) licensure per the California Board of Registered Nursing
  2. DEA number
  3. Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
  4. Master’s degree in nursing, public health, or a related field

Desired qualifications are:

  1. Minimum of one-year clinical experience as a CNM (antepartum and intrapartum)
  2. Proficiency in Spanish
  3. Strong communication, interdisciplinary teamwork skills
  4. Experience facilitating Centering Pregnancy groups
  5. Experience teaching OB/GYN residents and/or other interdisciplinary learners
  6. Practice patient-centered, culturally competent care
  7. Commitment to working successfully with a diverse learner population

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $115,100-$305,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. UCSF Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences has a total salary plan that uses National benchmarking standards to set salaries by subspecialty.
