Position description

Associate Specialist – Wu Lab

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is now recruiting an Associate Specialist. The job responsibilities will include:

  • Use machine learning methods to develop clinical decision-support tools that will improve ALS treatment in human patients.
  • Work in a integrative clinical and research team to address unmet clinical needs in ALS.
  • Conduct and publish reproducible research on applications of machine learning in ALS, including biomarker and target discovery
  • Review ML/AI literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge of cutting-edge methods and algorithms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, computer science or related disciplines or five to ten years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise with programming in at least one language such as R, Python etc.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new computational methods and skills for changing research priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a research team. and ability to learn new computational methods and skills for changing research priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
