Position description
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Stem Cell Editing and Cell Engineering
The Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regeneration Medicine and Stem Cell Research at the University of California San Francisco seeks an outstanding physician-scientist for a full-time faculty position with research, teaching, and clinical responsibilities at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level, in the tenure-track (Ladder Rank) or In-Residence series. Applicants must have a productive research background, demonstrating an unusual degree of creativity, in the areas of genome editing and/or cell engineering applied to cellular therapies. The chosen candidate will develop/maintain a thriving independent research program and collaborate with other members of the stem cell and genome editing communities at UCSF.
The successful candidate must possess an MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), be Board Certified or Board eligible in Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment and must have or be eligible for a medical license in California at the time of appointment. Individuals with a documented record of grant support and experience with bench-to-bedside translation of research in cellular therapies are highly desirable. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training.
Applicants must show evidence of research excellence in their field, be a strong communicator, and exhibit strength in teaching and in mentoring. The successful candidate will become a member of one or more UCSF graduate programs, such as Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and Developmental and Stem Cell Biology (DSCB), and contribute to teaching, mentoring, and training. The faculty appointment will be in the School of Medicine, in partnership with a clinical department based on the candidate’s expertise.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $112,500-$377,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
