Position description

Junior Specialist, Department of Neurology, UCSF School of Medicine

The Department of Neurology seeks a highly motivated, dynamic individual for the position of Junior Specialist. This individual will work under supervision of Dr Riley Bove, faculty in the Department of Neurology. They will have the opportunity to contribute in various capacities to ongoing clinical translational research projects and clinical trials in the Bove Lab. Responsibilities will include running clinical trials as well observational studies focused on reproductive health of individuals living with MS and other neurological conditions.

Interested applicants must have outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and the capacity to communicate effectively regarding scientific concepts to both patients and clinicians. Preferred experiences include familiarity with clinical and/or laboratory research including regulatory approvals, experience with electronic medical record systems (EPIC), REDCap, and medical data collection, and experience processing biological samples. Successful applicants must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse subject population.

Required qualifications:
• Appointees to the Junior Specialist rank must possess a baccalaureate (or equivalent) degree or at least four years of research experience.
• Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon application submission.
• Applicants must possess the required qualifications by the time of the appointment.

See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $51,300-$54,600.
