Position description

Junior or Assistant Specialist- Clelland Lab

Junior Specialist or Assistant Specialist positions are now open for the Clelland Lab at the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. The goal of the Clelland lab is develop novel therapies for neurodegenerative diseases like dementias and ALS. Projects focused on basic mechanisms of disease and CRISPR gene editing in iPSC-derived neurons. We work with our close collaborators at the Innovative Genomics Institute. Applicants intending on progressing to graduate or medical school are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications:

  • Junior Specialist- A Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years of research experience required by start date.
  • Assistant Specialist- A Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with 3 or more years of research experience by the start date.
  • Laboratory experience
  • A background in molecular biology or bioinformatics
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A college degree
  • Cell culture experience

Start dates flexible until the position is filled. We prefer a 2-year commitment.

Salary competitive and commensurate with experience.
See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $51,300-$65,900.
