Lab-Based Research Scientist, Hematologic Malignancies and Cell Therapy Program, Division of Hematology/Oncology
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology/Oncology are recruiting for a new faculty member who is committed to a laboratory-based research career. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, and/or PhD. Physician candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Rank (Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) at the time of appointment will be determined based on degree of experience and track record to date.
Candidates will be expected to develop a robust laboratory program involving hematologic malignancies, stem cell biology, cancer immunology and/or cellular therapy. Physician candidates have an opportunity for limited patient care responsibilities within a disease sub-specialty associated with their primary research area. While appropriate space and resources will be provided for this faculty appointment, applying for funding and developing an independent research program is expected.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to become a member of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center with access to all core resources and abundant opportunities for collaboration in laboratory and translational science. The initial appointment will be made in the Adjunct or In Residence series depending on the candidate's experience.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $104,800-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
