Agard Lab – Associate/Full Specialist
Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics
UC San Francisco
The Agard Lab is seeking a cryoEM Structural Biologist. The successful candidate will focus on solving the structures of novel protein complexes related to protein homeostasis. This will involve cloning relevant components, bacterial and mammalian cell expression, protein purification, sample preparation for cryoEM, data collection and processing.
Required Qualifications:
- Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in a field related to structural biology or five to ten years of research experience.
- Specialists appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) in a field related to structural biology or ten or more years of research experience.
- Post-doctoral training in a field related to structural biology.
- 3+ years of experience in solving protein structures by single particle cryoEM.
- Experienced in using Relion and Crysparc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in light microscopy in mammalian cells and/or quantitative biochemical analyses.

See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,500-$181,800.
