Position description

The University of California, San Francisco, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is searching for a physician-scientist or translational scientist with a research program in cardiovascular genetics. Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or MD/MPH degree(s) and must be qualified for appointment at the level of an Assistant Professor or higher. The ideal candidate will have an established research program focused on genetics of cardiovascular disease, pathophysiology of monogenic or polygenic cardiovascular diseases, population genetics of cardiovascular disease and/or other areas of cardiovascular genetics research. Physician-scientist candidates will also have demonstrated a clinical interest and expertise in caring for patients with inherited cardiovascular disease or for those at elevated risk for cardiovascular disease due to genetic propensity, possibly including dilated cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, atherosclerosis, or vascular disease.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
