Division of Pediatrics at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG)
HS Clinical or Clinical X Series
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, is recruiting for general pediatricians. Appointments will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor ranks within the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical or Clinical X faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.
Successful candidates will join our team of dedicated professionals in the Division of Pediatrics located at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). We are a dynamic group comprising 40 faculty members who are passionately committed to health equity, scholarly pursuits, exceptional patient care, and the highest standards of medical education.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical services at the outpatient Children’s Health Center (CHC) with a focus on primary, urgent, and/or specialty care.
- For interested and qualified candidates, there is the potential to include FTE for inpatient clinical work on the pediatric hospitalist and nocturnist services.
- Qualified candidates may also have the opportunity to engage in special projects.
- For nocturnists, responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation and stabilization, clinical management of pediatric inpatients, and critically ill neonates, as well as consultations for pediatric patients in the emergency department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical degree and license.
- Board certification or eligibility in pediatrics.
- Proven experience in providing outpatient clinical care to children from birth through 21 years of age.
- Demonstrated commitment to urban underserved pediatric patients.
- Proven abilities in collaborative teamwork.
- Experience working with and supervising residents and medical students in a clinical setting.
- For nocturnists, NRP and PALS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in bilingualism, particularly Spanish.
- Experience in caring for children facing significant social challenges and adverse childhood experiences (ACES).
- For nocturnists, strong procedural skills, including neonatal intubation, umbilical catheterization, and needle thoracentesis.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$189,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500-$135,300.
