Position description
UCSF Fresno & Inspire Health – Clinical Genetics Faculty
The UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program and Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG), dba Inspire Health are currently recruiting for two academic faculty members in Genetics at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor Rank. The successful candidate must have a medical degree, and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Genetics and Genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Applicants must be licensed or eligible to obtain a California Medical license. A residency in pediatrics or internal medicine or a combined specialty is required. The responsibilities include teaching pediatric and genetic residents and medical students, and providing specialty evaluations for adult and pediatric patients in a new outpatient facility and tertiary level NICU. Prenatal diagnosis supervision and involvement in fetal care is integral to the practice. Interest or experience in patient-centered research is desirable and clinical research opportunities are abundant. Academic rank and salary will be consistent with the successful candidate’s professional background. The UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program is based in a large regional medical center and multiple pediatric subspecialists support the practice of clinical genetics.
The program is based in Fresno, California, where residents enjoy a high standard of living combined with a low cost of living. The result is a quality of life uniquely Californian, yet surprisingly affordable. Limitless recreational opportunities and spectacular scenery are all accessible in a multi-cultural community with abundant affordable housing. While there is much to see and do in Fresno, the city is ideally located for access to the majestic Sierras (just 90 minutes away) as well as the scenic Central Coast, or San Francisco. Fresno is the only major city in the country with close proximity to three national parks, including renowned Yosemite National Park.
