Position description
SFVAHCS Staff Physician, Infectious Disease Section
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for the position of Staff Physician in the Infectious Disease Section. The SFVAHCS Infectious Disease Section is one of three infectious disease divisions within the UCSF Department of Medicine, which include the UCSF Medical Center and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. This individual will be appointed in the Health Sciences Clinical Series or Clinical X Series at UCSF and report to the SFVAHCS section chief. Qualified applicants will have an MD, current Medical License, and be board certified/eligible in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. The ideal candidate will be suitable for academic appointment at UCSF at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor, and will be expert in adult clinical infectious diseases, including geographic medicine, principles of antimicrobial therapy, infectious disease consultation in surgery, critical care, skilled nursing facilities and outpatient infectious disease consultation, including HIV medicine.
We are seeking applicants with interest in one (or several) of the following areas: Outpatient Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT), Antimicrobial Stewardship, Hospital Epidemiology, Medical Education, and/or HIV prevention and care.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100 - $320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 49% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500 - $228,600.
For positions exclusively/ partially funded by the affiliate organization:
