Position description
SFVAHCS - Cardiology - Research Faculty
The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for junior-level research faculty positions in Cardiology at the SFVAHCS. The selected candidate(s) will be appointed at a rank and/or series commensurate with experience and qualifications. The SFVAHCS Cardiology program is one of 3 sites within the UCSF Cardiology program.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have an MD, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases. The appointment will be made at the level of Assistant Professor of Medicine or higher in the Adjunct, Health Sciences Clinical, In Residence, or Clinical X Professor series at UCSF and report directly to the Division Chief of Cardiology at SFVAHCS.

Candidates will have demonstrated clinical excellence, as well as aptitude for basic, translational or clinical investigation. In particular, candidates must show strong potential for extramurally funded research, and will be expected to have obtained, or be able to apply competitively for, career-development awards. Applicants’ materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
Successful candidates will have strong references and evidence of or potential for outstanding leadership in academic medicine.

For positions that are 50% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100 - $320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 49% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500 - $228,600.
