Southern California Director of Experiential Pharmacy Education, UCSF, School of Pharmacy

The UCSF School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to serve as the Director of Southern California Area Experiential Training. The UCSF School of Pharmacy has been the national leader in NIH research funding and is widely recognized for innovation in pharmacy practice and education.

The successful candidate will manage Southern California experiential education activities, develop and implement new experiential opportunities, and participate in ongoing preceptor development and training programs. The candidate will be responsible for the quality assurance of the experiential education programs and will work closely with the IPPE program director and other regional program directors throughout the state, and a large cohort of volunteer faculty. She/he/they will have responsibilities in didactic and experiential teaching within the PharmD program. She/he/they will also be expected to provide clinical services consistent with her/his/their area of practice expertise and department needs. The Southern California Experiential Director will report to the Associate Dean of Experiential Education and Professional Development and the Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

The successful candidate will be a PharmD from an accredited college/school of pharmacy and have completed at least a PGY1 pharmacy residency or have equivalent skills and experience. The candidate will either be licensed in California as a pharmacist or be eligible for licensure within 6 months. High priority in selection will be given to candidates with experience in a pharmacy practice setting (acute, ambulatory, community, managed care, or population health), evidence of excellent communication, clinical, and teaching skills, excellent organizational and administrative skills, and strong potential for academic advancement as evidenced by a record of or potential for research/ creative accomplishments.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $112,500-$297,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
