Position description

Faculty Hematology/Oncology Section, San Francisco VA Health Care System

The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for a faculty position in Hematology/Oncology at the SFVAHCS. The SFVAHCS Hematology/Oncology program is one of 3 sites within the UCSF Hematology/Oncology program.

This individual will be appointed in the Health Sciences or Clinical X or In Residence Professor series at UCSF and report directly to the Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at SFVAHCS.

Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology. The ideal candidate will be suitable for academic appointment at UCSF at the level of Assistant Professor of Medicine or higher. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated excellent clinical skills, devotion to education, and strong academic research potential. Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA. For positions that are 50% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100 - $320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 49% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500 - $228,600.

For positions exclusively/ partially funded by the affiliate organization:
This position may be funded exclusively/partially by the SFVAHCS. See Veterans Affairs website for salary information: https://www.va.gov/OHRM/Pay/.
