POSITION DESCRIPTION: ACADEMIC AMBULATORY GENERAL INTERNIST, GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE- SAN FRANCISCO, VAHCS

Academic Clinical Faculty Search, UCSF Department of Medicine and San Francisco VA Health Care System

The UCSF Department of Medicine is seeking academic clinical faculty members at all ranks in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System. Our faculty enjoy extraordinarily diverse roles, staffing multiple clinical services (including ambulatory teaching and non- teaching general medicine clinics), and leading many quality, safety, IT, education, diversity, and research programs. The appointment will be made at the level of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Medicine in the Health Sciences Clinical, Clinical X, Adjunct, or In-Residence series.

Our goal is to provide new faculty members with clinical experiences that match their interests in ambulatory general internal medicine while simultaneously creating opportunities to explore and develop a path for academic success and a rewarding career in academic medicine. Minimum Requirements: Physician candidates must be board-eligible/certified in Internal Medicine with excellent clinical and communication skills. Candidates must also have a valid US medical license.

For positions that are 50% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $104,800 - $320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 49% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $74,800 - $228,600.

For positions exclusively/ partially funded by the affiliate organization:
