Position description
Junior Specialist- Fraser Lab
The Fraser Lab in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences have a Junior Specialist position available immediately. Salary will be commensurate with level of experience. The department is focused on developing new areas of therapeutic engineering, pharmacogenomics, computational biology, systems pharmacology, drug development and regulatory sciences. The Fraser lab uses a combination of structural biology, biochemistry, and deep mutational scanning methods for studying how proteins work in physiology and disease. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated pipelines for processing cryo-EM images, facilitating statistical analysis, and structure determination essential for structure-based design. A strong background in computational biology, image analysis, and a passion for advancing structural biology research are essential.
Required qualifications are:
• Bachelor’s degree prior to start point for appointment to the Junior rank.
• Familiarity with wet lab methods
• Excellent communication
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and an enthusiasm for science
