Position description

The GI Division at UCSF is in search of a gastroenterologist with an interest in non-transplant hepatology to join the faculty at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). The proposed appointment will be at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Duties will include rotating as an attending physician in a safety-net hospital with a combined GI and liver inpatient consult service, performing elective and emergent endoscopic procedures, and seeing outpatients in specialty clinics devoted to non-transplant hepatology. Applications are welcome from individuals with a strong desire to contribute to an academic GI and hepatology program and make an individual contribution to scholarship in research, education or health policy. The initial appointment level, as well as the amount of time to be spent on clinical vs. scholarly activity, will depend upon the applicant’s qualifications and promise. Applicants must be MDs board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $104,800-$158,000. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
