In Residence or Adjunct series

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for one or more full-time faculty positions at any rank, in the In Residence or the Adjunct series, with a start date as early as of July 2024.

The UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics provides a supportive academic environment for original methodological research and ample opportunities for collaboration, including with the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Pepper Center and the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education, as well as teaching and mentoring as part of our Master’s Degrees in Clinical Research, Global Health and Health Data Science and the Epidemiology and Translational Science and Global Health Sciences PhD programs.

Duties: The successful candidate is expected to conduct collaborative research with biomedical scientists, maintain their own research program, and carry a light teaching load (typically 1 to 2 quarter-length courses per year or the equivalent). We will consider any area of research compatible with current departmental programs. This is an opportunity to join an energetic, involved Biostatistics program at one of the nation’s top medical research institutions.

Qualifications: PhD in Biostatistics or a closely related field expected by the start date. Preference given to candidates with strong interest and experience in collaboration and consulting in a biomedical environment and excellent teaching/mentoring and communication skills. Preferred areas of expertise include analysis of longitudinal and time-to-event data, risk prediction modeling, causal inference or quasi-experimental design and analysis. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $97,300-$297,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
