The Department of Orofacial Sciences in the School of Dentistry at University of California, San Francisco seeks applicants for a full-time position as an Associate or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series. The selected candidate will be expected to oversee the Pediatric Dentistry training programs which include 19 Residents. The Division of Pediatric Dentistry has training opportunities at the Parnassus campus, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Mission Bay and Oakland, and affiliated with the La Clinical De La Raza/Children’s Hospital Oakland dental clinic and Petaluma Health Center in Rohnert Park. In addition, the Division has three active HRSA grants. Primary responsibilities will also include teaching, clinical faculty practice, and opportunities for research.

Applicants must have a dental degree (DDS, DMD, or equivalent) and a certificate of advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry, and be a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or be Board-eligible and in the process of seeking Diplomate status. Applicants should have extensive clinical experience and be competent in all phases of preventive, restorative and surgical practice. Clinical experience should also include recent extensive experience providing comprehensive surgical and restorative care in the hospital operating room as well as other advanced forms of behavior guidance such as oral conscious sedation. Experience in teaching, clinical research, and administration is strongly preferred. Intramural practice opportunities are available. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $139,500-$297,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
