HS Clinical, Clinical X, Adjunct, and In Residence Faculty Series

The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are recruiting faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Adjunct, Clinical X, or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and would actively contribute to the Departments mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care. Our Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine is one of the longest standing in the country and supports an established fellowship training program and diverse set of trainees through the Leadership in Adolescent Health (LEAH) program.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess a medical degree and license, board certification or eligibility in pediatrics, and/or board certification or eligibility in adolescent medicine. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated expertise in the practice and teaching of clinical adolescent and young adult medicine. Preferred candidates will show interest in a career in academic pediatrics.

Position:
Successful candidates will provide clinical services within the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine. Our primary care clinical practice provides comprehensive care for youth and young adults. Multi-disciplinary specialty services range from managing patients with eating disorders, substance use, reproductive health, behavioral and mental health, and caring for LGBTQ youth and young adults. Inpatient services include medical management of patients with eating disorder and specialty consultation to other hospitalist services. Our outpatient clinics have a wide reach throughout Northern California and serve a highly diverse population throughout the Bay Area. These services are provided at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland, regional satellite sites, and by telehealth. The successful candidate may provide clinical services across locations.

Successful candidates will play an active role in the ongoing training and education of medical students, pediatric residents, and adolescent medicine fellows. Here, you will join a well-established interdisciplinary division including faculty in medicine (pediatrics and internal medicine), nutrition, nursing, social work, psychology, and health policy. The Department of Pediatrics and School of Medicine are home to a well-established faculty development program, designed to assist faculty in achieving successful and fulfilling academic careers.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $99,200-$305,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,800-$218,500.
