Position description

The Baron Lab is now recruiting for a Professional Researcher at the Full rank. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in experimental laboratory-based research and demonstrated leadership necessary to manage several research projects including academic and industry collaborations, as well as bio-banking endeavors. Responsibilities include leadership and management of existing mouse and human programs investigating mechanisms of viral and tumor immunity* collaborating with a team of clinical, research and data scientists on the execution and analysis of an ongoing human clinical trials including directing cross-species comparisons between patient samples and animal models. The candidate will contribute new ideas and cultivate others' input relevant the research mission, and submit proposals for funding opportunities including the NIH.

Required qualifications:
• PhD in related biomedical field, preferably in immunology, virology/microbiology, or biomedical sciences.
• At least 2+ years of postdoc training.
• Must have experience with mouse and human hepatic immunologial studies and at least 2 years of experience in training and supervising scientists in the laboratory setting.
• Skilled at spectral flow cytometry and cell sorting, as well as single cell sequencing analysis.
• Experience working with BSL2 pathogens and primary human specimens.

Preferred qualifications:
• Strong understanding of immunology and liver biology.
• Mastery of spectral flow cytometry and/or CyToF (25+ markers).
• Experience designing, executing, and analyzing large comic-data sets including scRNAseq, CITE-seq, Nanostring etc.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with grant awards and scholarly publications.
• Track record of independent research.
• History of potential to develop a sustained source of research funding.
