FULL TIME TEACHING ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITION

School of Pharmacy, University of California, San Francisco
The School of Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for full-time Assistant/Associate Professors in the Adjunct Professorial series (non-tenure track). A total of four adjunct faculty positions are available.

Two positions will be primarily dedicated to teaching in the PharmD and PharmD/PhD curriculum. Teaching duties in the PharmD curriculum will include curriculum planning and development, coordinating instructors, delivering instruction to students (including lecturing, small group facilitation, and research project advising), proctoring and grading, and mentoring/advising pharmacy students. Adjunct faculty candidates for these positions are expected to have a PharmD or PharmD/PhD, or alternatively a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree at the time of appointment.

The other two positions will focus on teaching in our new Master’s degree programs in computational drug discovery, drug development, and regulatory science. We welcome applications from scientists with backgrounds and experiences in drug discovery and drug development, quantitative pharmacology, pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling, bioinformatics, pharmaceutical sciences, and related fields. Adjunct faculty candidates for these positions are expected to have a PhD, PharmD, MD, combined PharmD/PhD or MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree at the time of appointment.

For all of these positions, faculty in the Adjunct Professor series will contribute primarily to teaching and have a limited responsibility for research or other creative work. These positions will be primarily focused on teaching and teaching administration, which will include curriculum planning and development, coordinating instructors, delivering instruction to students (including lecturing, small group facilitation, and research project advising), proctoring and grading, and mentoring/advising students.

Candidates with experience teaching students in the health sciences are preferred. Salary/rank and appointment to either the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry or the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and training. For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $112,500-$176,000. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500-$135,300.
