The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise in gender affirming surgery. Applicants must be board eligible/certified in Plastic Surgery and have completed a gender related/gender affirming surgery fellowship by the time of hire or have experience with both chest and genital reassignment procedures. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.

Primary clinical responsibilities will be in the area of gender affirming surgery as well as general reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Participation in an established multidisciplinary transgender care clinic will be expected.

Candidates who have a proven track record of academic productivity are encouraged to apply. Ongoing academic pursuits will be expected. Protected time for research will be provided.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $135,700 - $213,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
