POSITION DESCRIPTION
Nocturnist and Day/Swing Hospital Medicine faculty positions at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital

The University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Medicine is recruiting internists to join the Division of Hospital Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). ZSFG is a premier safety net hospital and trauma center that is one of the main clinical sites for the UCSF School of Medicine and the UCSF Internal Medicine residency program.

The ZSFG Division of Hospital Medicine is one of the premier safety net hospital medicine divisions in the country. Our division has a strong track record of developing faculty careers in medical education, hospital leadership, clinical innovation, and research. We highly value physicians who will contribute to diversity of the ZSFG physician workforce, and whose background and experience will contribute to our mission of providing high-quality care for the diverse patient population served by ZSFG. Interest and experience in the care of underserved populations is highly preferred.

The clinical responsibilities for faculty hospitalists include supervision of residents on the Resident Inpatient Service as well as direct patient care and consult/co-management on the Faculty Inpatient Service. All positions include protected academic time and mentorship to develop academic interests. Successful candidates will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills, potential for leadership in quality improvement, medical education, research or another academic area, and a commitment to caring for vulnerable and marginalized patients. We have both dedicated nocturnist and day/swing positions.

Candidates must be ABIM board-eligible or board-certified. Positions include a faculty appointment at the University of California San Francisco, flexible schedule, and competitive benefits package.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $110,500 - $333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $78,900-$238,300.
