FACULTY POSITION IN ORAL MEDICINE
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SAN FRANCISCO

The University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Orofacial Sciences invites applications for a position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in any academic series (ladder, in Residence, Clinical X or HS Clinical), in the Division of Oral Medicine, Pathology and Radiology. The successful candidate will be expected to provide patient care in the Oral Medicine clinic, to contribute to the education of students and residents in the Schools of Dentistry and Medicine, and serve as the Director of the Postgraduate Program in Oral Medicine. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop and sustain a program of translational/clinical research in an area of oral disease. The applicant must have completed advanced training in oral medicine, be certified by the American Board of Oral Medicine, and be eligible for licensure in the State of California by examination, credentials or by Special Permit. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training in clinical and translational research that has suitably prepared them for a career in academia. Salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials.

The Division of Oral Medicine, Pathology & Radiology is a successful clinical, scientific and educational enterprise with a record of innovation and discovery. The Division has a large track-record of extra-mural research funding with successful research programs in several focused areas including oncology, Sjögren’s syndrome, and the oral manifestations of HIV infection and AIDS. Specialty clinics including the Oral Medicine Clinic and the UCSF Dermatopathology & Oral Pathology Service deliver clinical care to a high volume of complex and challenging patients and provide an excellent foundation for education and scientific discovery. Close academic, research and clinical links exist with the UCSF School of Medicine, the Helen Diller Family UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center, the AIDS Research Institute, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery as well as other units.
