Clinical Instructor or Assistant HS Clinical Professor, Non Malignant Hematology Program

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco is recruiting for a new faculty member at 51% whose clinical, teaching, and research activities focus on non-malignant hematology. Areas that fit well with current strengths at UCSF include blood disorders, and thromboembolic risk and prevention focusing on platelets, vascular pathology, or coagulation factors. Applicants who have been successful in obtaining peer –reviewed funding are particularly encouraged to apply.

The faculty member will be expected to participate in the teaching and training of Hematology and Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students. The Division of Hematology and Oncology has a large fellowship program with a strong record of training fellows who have gone on to full-time academic positions as well as leadership positions in biotechnology companies. Clinical activities will include attending on a busy hematology consultation service, in an outpatient nonmalignant hematology clinic, and in a federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center. Appropriate candidates will have leadership opportunities in the Hemophilia Treatment Center.

The appointment will be made at the level of Clinical Instructor or Assistant HS Clinical Professor.

Applicants must have an MD Degree and be ABIM eligible or certified in Hematology, along with being fellowship trained in Hematology.
