Gender Confirming Genital Surgery

The Department of Urology, University of California, San Francisco, has an opening for a full-time surgeon with experience in the area of Gender Confirming Genital Surgery. The successful candidate must hold an MD degree and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology. The ideal candidate must be experienced in the surgical and non-surgical issues unique to the population management including vaginoplasty and phalloplasty. An exemplary track record of patient care and an active interest in clinical, translational or basic science research or education is preferred. The position will be based at the UCSF Medical Center Parnassus and/or an affiliate Campus. The candidate must have recognized skills in the education of Medical Students, Residents and Fellows. All candidates must have or be able to obtain a California medical license. The position will be appointed in either the In Residence or Clinical X series at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor Level depending on qualifications and experience of the final candidate. All requirements must be met by the start date.

The candidate will collaborate with a team of physicians from the Departments of Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences to provide innovative and compassionate care for the Transgender population at UCSF. The candidate must have a strong interest and experience in research, with the goal of developing a multi-disciplinary Gender Confirming research program that will seek to advance the quality of care for this patient population.
