Position description

The Department of Orofacial Sciences, School of Dentistry, University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a faculty member for its multidisciplinary programs in teaching, clinical care and oral health research. A full-time position is available (at the Assistant or Associate rank in the Ladder, In Residence, Clinical X or HS Clinical series) with principal emphasis on oral and maxillofacial radiology/imaging teaching and diagnosis. Outstanding opportunities are available for research and intramural practice and include collaborations with the Department of Radiology of the School of Medicine¸ where a joint appointment could be offered to a suitably qualified candidate. DDS or equivalent and advanced training in oral radiology with certification by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology are required. Candidates for the Associate rank must have an outstanding record of teaching, research and service.

UCSF and its Medical Center are widely recognized as leading academic and healthcare institutions. UCSF comprises the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy, and a number of hospitals and outpatient clinics. Close academic and clinical links also exist with the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCSF Dermatopathology & Oral Pathology Service, UCSF Medical Imaging, Oral Medicine Clinic, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery.

Academic rank, series and salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the appointee. The position is available July 1, 2019 and is open until filled.
