Wittmann Lab, Associate Specialist/Full Specialist

The Wittmann laboratory is seeking to hire a scientist at the Associate or Full Specialist level to pursue a project designed to understand how microtubule cytoskeleton dynamics control neuronal development and to continue to refine related optogenetic approaches. The primary goal is to test how acute local perturbation of microtubule plus end dynamics and plus end protein complexes control neuron morphogenesis. Studies will include use and development of advanced live cell microscopy, quantitative image analysis, genome editing, induced pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation, as well as other standard biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. The applicant is also expected to train and help other researches with microscopy-related aspects of other projects.

Required qualifications:
--Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
--Two or more years experience in a cell biology research laboratory setting with a focus on cytoskeleton dynamics.
--Two or more years experience in quantitative live cell microscopy.
--Two or more years experience with genome editing in induced pluripotent stem cell systems.
--Experience in other common cell and molecular biology techniques.
--Ability to plan activities to accomplish multiple goals in the same time frame
--Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
