The Cardiology Division at UCSF Health is seeking a Bionformaticist Analyst for Dr. Jeffrey Olgin’s research team.
This role will be responsible to: Independently perform analysis of large complex datasets of RNAseq, genomic and proteomic data; Perform statistical analyses of large complex datasets of RNAseq, genomic and proteomic data; Perform data visualization of large complex datasets of RNAseq, genomic and proteomic data; Perform pathway analyses to draw biological conclusions from large complex datasets of RNAseq, genomic and proteomic data; and Interact with scientists, biologists and clinicians in the research group to generate and test hypotheses and design new experiments.
Required qualifications include: PhD; Experience in bio-informatics, specifically in analyzing RNAseq data; Experience in using databases for pathway analyses and other analyses for RNAseq data; Experience with data visualization tools and techniques; Experience in statistical analyses methods for large genomic data; and Programming in R and/or Python. Preferred candidate will also have training and experience in analyzing RNAseq data and single cell RNAseq data.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
