Position description

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in bioengineering, engineering, physics, or an associated field and with demonstrated experience and expertise in the theoretical and experimental development of therapeutic ultrasound devices and procedures. Candidate should have considerable knowledge and experience in ultrasound physics based laboratory measurements and systems, numerical methods and procedures for theoretical analysis of acoustic and thermal treatment devices, performance of ex vivo and in vivo thermal dosimetry studies, and MRI/US image-guidance approaches for treatment guidance and monitoring. Additional requirements include: proven skills in oral and written communication in English; demonstration of academic contributions including scientific presentations and peer reviewed journal articles; demonstrated ability to work independently and work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team; and contribute to an active intellectual environment.

Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
