Director of Clinical Services
The Department of Anatomic Pathology
University of California San Francisco

The Department of Pathology of the University of California San Francisco is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position with service, teaching and research responsibilities primarily in surgical gastrointestinal pathology at the Professor level in the Clinical (X) series.

Candidates must have an MD degree, valid California Medical License or qualifications to obtain one, and be Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and Pediatric Pathology. Special expertise in GI, Pancreas, and/or Liver pathology is required. Demonstrated expertise in pediatric GI and/or Liver pathology is highly desirable. Candidates with demonstrated experience and proficiency supervising the clinical operations of a multidisciplinary and complex anatomic pathology division or department are especially encouraged to apply. Evidence of academic endeavors (publications, invited presentations and demonstrated success as a teacher) is expected. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.

The individual will also be expected to participate in the surgical pathology service including night and weekend call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff and fellows, interdepartmental conferences, and clinical and/or translational research.
