Description

Faculty Positions - Neuroscience of Addiction and Related Disorders
UCSF, Department of Neurology and Weill Institute for Neurosciences

The Department of Neurology at UCSF is recruiting outstanding, energetic neuroscientists investigating addiction and related brain mechanisms. This area of research is defined broadly; it could include (just as examples) cellular actions of abused drugs, neural dynamics associated with motivation, or brain processes of behavioral control and decision-making in humans. Recruited faculty will join an intellectually-vibrant group of investigators (https://aarg.ucsf.edu/faculty) as well as the wider, world-class neuroscience community at UCSF (http://weill.ucsf.edu). We expect to offer a very competitive package of start-up funding and salary support.

Selected candidates will be hired at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks of the In-Residence faculty series, commensurate with their experience and level of accomplishment. Qualified applicants will possess a medical or doctoral degree, and a clear track record of innovative publications and extramural grant support.

Applicants must apply online at https://aprecruit.ucsf.edu/apply/JPF02073, with a cover letter, CV, Statement of Research, Statement of Contributions to Diversity, and the names, titles, and e-mail addresses of three references whom we may contact directly. Applications received outside of the online process cannot be considered, but informal inquiries can be directed to Josh Berke at joshua.berke@ucsf.edu.

UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or protected veteran status.
