Chair of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry
Department of Orofacial Sciences

Applications are sought for the position of Chair of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry in the Department of Orofacial Sciences, School of Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco. Candidates should be eligible for appointment as Associate or Full Professor. The selected candidate will be appointed in a tenure track, clinical track, or a series commensurate with qualifications.

The applicant must be eligible for dental licensure in California, have specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry from an ADA-accredited program, strong clinical expertise and board certification in Pediatric Dentistry. Responsibilities include administration of the research, clinical and educational programs of the division, mentorship of faculty and residents, and management of divisional finances and resources. The chair is also responsible for the maintenance and growth of research activities within the division and for maintaining and strengthening interactions with the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland. Close academic, research and clinical links exist with the other divisions in the Department, with the other departments in the School of Dentistry and with the School of Medicine. Preferred candidates should have an international reputation in Pediatric Dentistry, leadership experience, relevant administrative experience, and a sound understanding of basic and / or clinical research in pediatric dentistry with a track record of NIH funding.
